Honor has unveiled the Watch 5 smartwatch with GPS navigation, a rugged case and a battery with increased energy density. The gadget received new algorithms for monitoring the physical condition and quality of the owner’s sleep, and also acquired built-in memory for storing music.
The Honor Watch 5 features a 1.85-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 450×390 pixels and a peak brightness of 1000 nits. Their aluminum body is protected from dust and water according to the IP68 standard, and a tightness class of 5 ATM (smooth immersion to a depth of 50 m) is also declared.
The watch can work as a wireless headset for a smartphone (Bluetooth 5.2), and in its absence, it can independently navigate by GPS. In addition, the gadget can act as an audio player: for this, it received 4 GB of internal memory.
The device runs MagicOS 8 firmware with new Scientific Sleep Management algorithms, as well as Healthy Morning Report and Quick Health Scan.
A 480 mAh silicon-carbon battery is responsible for the autonomy of the smartwatch. According to the manufacturer, it provides a 21 percent increase in energy density compared to the Honor Watch 4 battery. The declared battery life of the novelty is up to 15 days, depending on the operating mode.

The actual battery life varies depending on usage habits of users.

This ensures accurate tracking and more precise sports data in complex urban canyon environments. Equipped with a precision Location system, the Honor Watch provides accurate positioning for calculating distance,and routes, making it more accurate watch in dense urban environments.

- The device has been tested in a controlled environment and in accordance with splash, water, and dust resistant in specific situations (meets requirements of classification IP68 as described by the international standard IEC 60529:2013). It is not suitable for underwater diving, diving, hot showers, saunas, hot springs, and other wading or deep water activities with high-speed water flows. Metal and leather straps are not waterproof, so they are not suitable for swimming and other scenarios where the wearer sweats a lot. If the wearer requires so, we suggest wearing a different type of strap. This device complies with the IP68 water resistance rating, but its water resistance is not permanent, and protection may decrease due to daily wear and tear.

The Honor Watch 5 will be available in black, gold and green body colors. The price and start of sales of the smartwatch have not yet been announced.
