OKAMI R135 AI is a novelty in the family of robot vacuum cleaners from the well-known brand. The model has absorbed all the best from its predecessors, uses modern developments and is ready to completely relieve the user of tedious cleaning, taking this matter upon himself.
What’s in the box
The vacuum cleaner comes in large packaging along with a self-cleaning station and a set of consumables. There are spare filters, and replaceable garbage bags, and two pairs of microfiber wipes – mops for cleaning the floors. There are even spare three-beam side brushes inside, so here is perhaps the widest set imaginable.

When purchasing OKAMI R135 AI, you will have to think in advance where to place it. Because the dimensions of the station are impressive – 47 x 40 x 45 cm, and given the indents in the front, on the sides and at the top, even more space will be required in the end. And it will not be possible to place anything above it either, since containers with water are removed and inserted from above.
The station is delivered partially disassembled – in front of it, you still need to put a pallet, where the robot drives. It is equipped with sensors, control buttons, indicator lights and a speaker grille. Under the cover of the station there are two removable tanks for clean (3.5 liters) and dirty water (4 liters), and next to them there is a removable garbage bag for 3.5 liters. There is no separate container for cleaning liquid – it is added directly to clean water.
OKAMI R135 AI vacuum cleaner is a familiar type of washer on wheels. The diameter of the body is 35 cm. Small and nimble, it has a height of 9.8 cm, so it is able to penetrate under furniture on legs. Its powerful Japanese NIDEC brushless electric motor allows you to achieve the highest suction force for this kind of devices at 8000 Pa.
For navigation, the model uses a camera, as well as a lidar mounted on top. The robot also has enough other sensors: 4 height sensors, two ToF sensors to determine the distance to obstacles. An ultrasonic sensor, which is located to the left of the swivel wheel on the bottom, is responsible for determining the type of surface, and the mentioned front camera is also equipped with two LED spotlights. These headlights shine in the front hemisphere so brightly that the robot is quite capable of cleaning even in complete darkness.
The chassis consists of two standard wheels with rubber treads and independent spring suspensions, and the driving wheel is a round front wheel, the freedom of which is 360 degrees. The robot is capable of overcoming obstacles up to 2 cm high.
How is it managed?
There are control buttons on both the robot’s lid and the docking station. Using the keys, basic functions are available: started cleaning and returning the vacuum cleaner to the station, washing and drying rags using hot water and hot air, as well as self-cleaning of the station itself. In this case, the vacuum cleaner leaves the base, stands next to it and waits for the end of the cleaning process.
A wider range of features is available in the Okami IQ Home mobile app for Android and iOS devices. In it, you can select cleaning modes, set their sequence according to the schedule, edit room maps built by the robot, mark forbidden areas and carpets. You can also keep track of consumables. If the house has several floors, the application will allow you to build and use several maps.
It is possible to remotely connect to the camera in the front bumper with image broadcasting. Photo and video shooting, switching between SD/HD quality, as well as two-way voice transmission are available. Nothing prevents you from communicating with pets in this way, and the automatic turning on of the LED spotlight helps you use the camera even in the dark.

The robot has several modes: automatic cleaning, cleaning of selected rooms, and cleaning of a designated area. Dry cleaning is performed by the device as standard. Sweeps debris with a side brush onto the central movable turbo brush with successive rows of bristles and rubber V-shaped lamellas. This is a universal solution that allows you to collect dirt from both smooth and pile surfaces. When detecting carpeting, the robot itself increases the suction force.
Another system is responsible for wet cleaning, consisting of two round mops attached to magnets. If any wire accidentally wraps around the brush, it can be instantly released by tearing it off the magnet and immediately attaching it back.
Microfiber mops moistened with water from the robot’s internal tank have a much greater effect on the floor than a standard cleaning robot that simply drags a napkin behind it. Here, the round brushes rotate with high torque, effectively chafing the floor and erasing stubborn stains.
During the cleaning process, the robot moves along a Y-shaped trajectory. There is no brush extension system, so about 3-4 centimeters to the baseboard remain dry. But the adaptive mode is well thought out, when the vacuum cleaner lifts wet wipes when hitting carpets.

The robot is equipped with a built-in 5200 mAh battery. One charge is enough to remove up to 250 square meters. The maximum operating time from a single charge is 300 minutes. But it depends on the regime. However, neither the discharge time nor the charge time should concern the user with such an automated system. After all, the robot leaves on its own to recharge and then returns to finish its work.
After cleaning the room, the vacuum cleaner drives through the ramp inside the station and is cleaned there. Under a pressure of 28,000 Pa, the station sucks all the garbage out of the container and collects it in a removable bag. At this time, the inner tank is refilled with clean water, and used mop cloths, which have just been used to wash the floors, are washed with hot water, and then dried with hot air flows.
The self-cleaning of the robot and the station pallet make life much easier. For a long time, you will not have to get your hands dirty yourself, shaking out containers and rinsing rags. It is enough just to add clean water to the tank from time to time and empty the container from dirty water. Sometimes, about once every three weeks, you can clean the garbage bag. The system does the rest on its own, especially if you set it to work according to the schedule.
