Dragon Age: The Veilguard delighted the press, but with ordinary gamers, everything is not so simple. If on Steam the game had an average rating (about 75% approval), then on Metacritic the project’s page was razed to the ground.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Players have left over four thousand ratings for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, of which 2.6 thousand are negative. Based on this array, a “Generally unfavorable” rating was formed – only 3.9/10. Here’s what angry users write.

The central problem is not the problem of the agenda as such, but everything that follows from it. This influenced the story, dialogues and atmosphere of the entire work, turning them into an absolute banality. There is no respect for the story of Dragon Age, there is no concern for its characters, there are abnormal dialogues, tasteless choices. It’s an insult to RPG in general.

What the hell is this game? They completely ruined Dragon Age! I’ve played all the games, and this is the worst ever made!

At first, I didn’t believe the rumors — I didn’t think that a company of Bioware’s size could become so poor in such a short time. But it’s true, they made this game and its dialogues a course of transgender self-exploration for children from 3 to 7 years old.

Thank you for deleting my long previous review. I still give 0/10 for the script, gameplay and terrible character design.

Well done for deleting my review. I’ll continue to post them, so don’t worry, useless site moderators. This game is terrible in every way, it should be marked as a biohazard and run on the Sun!

Good graphics and atmospheric landscapes. Bad dialogues. Almost childish. The author, apparently, has never played such games. I felt that someone was trying to educate me. Is this really the game we loved? What happened?

Poor scripting, monotonous and simple battles, the characters look like left-wing activists. With this game, they are simply promoting their favorite social policy. You destroy your own companies.

With Dragon Age: The Veilguard, BioWare manages to bring the series into the present: great technology, excellent playability, engaging story and characters and, above all, fantastic action combat make for an outstanding modern role-playing game.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard revives the series nearly a decade after Inquisition. BioWare successfully builds on past storylines, delivering well-developed characters and dynamics that make the world feel alive, even in the player’s absence. Visually and technically updated, the game introduces essential innovations while retaining the core essence that fans love. Love this game so far, has the spirit of DA2 with the scope of Inquisition. The characters are dynamic and complex, well-acted and a great variety of personalities without defaulting to RPG stereotypes. The story feels like a natural extension to the other games, can’t speak to how it is for newcomers to the series. There may be some repetition and overexplaining, but as a game with both old and new fans, that makes sense, and it’s not distracting. I’ve also paused to write down some lines of dialogue because they ruled. Super immersive and fun, which is what games are for! So, 10/10. Now! Content warning: sometimes people both real and fictional are gay, or even trans!!!  identities, because it has a cool, sweeping story, awesome companion characters, and a range of choices and storylines to explore.

his game is great! I’m sorry but 0-4 on a AAA title is insane. If you don’t like EA take it to twitter. This game is akin to ME2 meets fantasy with inspirations from God of War. I’m 20 hours in and still loving it. Maybe as I progress I might lower it to 8, but I doubt it.

Last weekend, Dragon Age: The Veilguard broke the online record on Steam: 89,418 people played it at the same time. The numbers indicate a certain financial success of the project, but The Veilguard is very far from the main hits of the year.
