A photo of the yet-to-be-announced horizontal clamshell OPPO Find N5 has appeared on the social network Weibo, which gives a general idea of the design of the future novelty. In addition, insiders accompanied the publication with an alleged list of characteristics of the device.

OPPO FIND N5

OPPO has started teasing key details of the Find N5 foldable smartphone. In the recent days, the device has emerged in leaked live images. The upcoming offering is touted to be the world’s thinnest foldable flagship thus potentially taking the crown from the Honor Magic V3 that debuted last year.

OPPO’s Product Manager for the Find series, Zhou Yibao shared images of the Find N5 showing its slim profile and comparing it with different things. Apart from this, the brand has also teased the IP ratings of the phone.

In the picture, the Find N5 is shown in black, and to the right of it is the Find N3 model. The smartphone can be viewed in more detail on the render from the Chinese insider Fixed Focus. Judging by the images, the lenses of the camera unit of the novelty will be located in the shape of a square, and not a cross, as in its predecessor. In addition, the gadget does not have a brand logo on the back panel – however, this can be attributed to the status of the prototype.

OPPO Find N5 teased ahead of February announcement

According to rumors, the novelty may become the thinnest foldable smartphone on the market (4 mm when opened, and about 9 mm when folded). Insiders also attribute to the device a titanium body with IPX8 protection, a 50 MP main camera, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and a 5700 mAh battery with 50W magnetic wireless charging.

OPPO Find N5 details teased, appears on Geekbench

  • The images of the OPPO Find N5 shared by Yibao on microblogging platform Weibo compares the device against the iPhone 16 Pro Max, four stacked bank cards, and two 1 Yuan coins.
  • It’s evident that the foldable phone has a very thin profile. For those unaware, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is 8.3mm thick.
  • However, it appears from the images that the Find N5’s thinness has been compared to the iPhone is in unfolded state.
  • The executive adds that the thinness is not the limit of the Find N5 but the limit of the charging port.
  • To recall, the OPPO Find N3 measures 5.8mm and 11.7mm when unfolded and folded respectively. Similarly, the world’s currently slimmest foldable phone i.e. the Honor Magic V3 is 4.4 and 9.4mm thin.
  • The exact dimensions of the Find N5 remain a mystery at this point.
  • In another teaser posted by OPPO, the Find N5 is confirmed to come with IPX6, IPX8, and IPX9 water resistant ratings.
  • It is said to support underwater photography, but the brand warns against using it underwater for more than 30 minutes.
  • In other news, the OPPO Find N5 China variant was spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking platform with model number PKH110. It will be powered by a 7-core Snapdragon 8 Elite processor coupled with 16GB RAM and run on Android 15 OS. The device scored 3,083 and 8,865 points in single-core and multi-core test results respectively.

Apart from the Chinese launch, the Find N5 is also heading to some Southeast Asian markets as the device already bagged multiple certifications. In the latest development, the N5 has also received approval from Thailand’s NBTC authority. It is speculated that the same device will be rebranded as the OnePlus Open 2 in other markets, such as the US, Europe, and India.

In the markets of the United States, India and Europe, the gadget will presumably be presented under the name OnePlus Open 2. The premiere of the novelty is expected in February.
