Tronsmart brings Halo 300, its latest portable party speaker with epic roar that shakes the ground. Beyond 240W powerful sound, Tronsmart Halo 300 delivers superior audio fidelity, with a Sound Pulse button to enhance the bass. Its angled tweeters impress with a wider 270-degree soundstage. This speaker brings you to an outdoor concert where rich sound fills the space.

The column wrapped in a bag lies between the layers of protective foam. With it, we get an AUX cable for 3.5 mm and a charging wire with a regular “eight”. Conveniently, there are no bulky blocks on it – you can charge the Halo 300 with any cable. There is also a nice-looking brochure inside, with good printing and a detailed explanation in Russian of all functions and buttons. Instructions in electronic form are also available, and we will tell you where to look for them below.

Outwardly, Tronsmart  Halo 300 is not even a step, but a jump away from the boring black speaker boxes. Yes, it is still black, but the shape deserves special praise. Its silhouette resembles a supercar, and this image is complemented by small wheels for transportation.

The front side is covered with a metal grille that protects the speakers from damage. Here we see another deviation from the canon in the form of extensions, which serve not only as a decoration, but also help to implement a wide radiation pattern of sound. The grill is neatly molded at the mounting points, and the attachment points of the front panel are covered with plugs so as not to disturb the aesthetics of the streamlined shapes.

The  Tronsmart side profile is good: its rounded shape smoothly transitions to the back panel, which is indicated by an overlay with a beveled relief pattern. In its lower part there is a bass reflex, and above, under the plug, there is a switch. Even higher there is a massive carrying handle with a purple insert. Additionally, there is a retractable boom handle – Tronsmart Halo 300 can be rolled behind you like a suitcase when this handle is extended.

On the top panel, you can see the controls and a notch, where it is convenient to put your phone or tablet. On the bottom panel, in addition to a pair of soft silicone wheels, there are four more rubberized stands. With them, the speaker is stable on any horizontal surface.

Thunderous 240W Sound with Every Detail Heard

Beyond the 240W stunning sound, the speaker reaches up to 111dB for room-shaking audio to fill the space of a basketball court. Composed of dual 8-inch woofers, 3-inch mid-tweeters and 2.25-inch tweeters, the 2.2-channel audio is designed to shake the ground with enhanced bass. Thanks to the engineered 3-way sound system, Tronsmart Halo 300 replicates live-music clarity to turn your gathering into an open-air concert where every guest feels the energy of the front row. Plus, pair two units for immersive stereo sound, or connect over 100 for earth-shaking fun.

In general, the Tronsmart speaker looks fresh and interesting. The jury of the international Red Dot Awards is of the same opinion, which awarded the Halo 300 with the Best Design Award last year. And she received the Muse Design Awards for her thoughtful appearance. At the same time, the build quality remains at its best: the IPX4 protection standard, perfect gaps, fasteners are hidden almost everywhere under the plugs.

Control and Switching

Connecting to Tronsmart Halo 300 via Bluetooth can be considered the basics. Additionally, there is an AUX input, two inputs for microphones or guitar. The XLR connector is a rare, if not unique, phenomenon for portable speakers. This is a reference to the field of professional sound, and at the same time the ability to connect guitars, drum pads, loopers and other special equipment. In general, a party can be not only loud, but also professionally tuned.

The Tronsmart USB-A port is used both to read music from a flash drive and to charge external devices. Two more 3.5 mm jacks make it possible to connect several speakers into one system using an AUX cable. By the way, this can also be done wirelessly. Two connectors are used for charging: one for the “eight” for the socket, and the second for the car charger. Separately, you can adjust the gain of each microphone input and reset the speaker to factory settings.

The controls on the top panel are very clear: in the center is the volume knob. Above is control over the tonal balance, echo, and volume of the microphone inputs. Three buttons between the blocks are responsible for preset sound effects in the form of crowd noise, siren and applause – useful for warming up at the beginning of the party. The SP button on the left activates the proprietary EQ preset.

The double button below is responsible for pairing two speakers in a stereo pair and switching to Bluetooth mode. The button below is power. The unit on the right controls playback, the button above activates the connection of Tronsmart speakers into a single network (up to 100 devices) or connects into a wireless stereo pair, and the lowest one controls the backlight modes.

The technical side of design

Tronsmart Halo 300 distinguished itself not only in style and switching methods, but also in technical equipment. Firstly, it has a pair of 20-centimeter bass speakers on the front panel. Their design is bass reflex, which is obviously better for a column of such a large caliber. The bass reflex gives a lot of volume and deep, variable bass, which will definitely not be superfluous for an open space.

In the upper corners of the front panel there are tweeters with a diameter of about 5 cm, and in the middle part of the speaker there are two more midrange speakers of about 7 cm each. The speakers are connected in stereo so that the sound has a natural volume and scale. The declared power of the speaker is 240 watts, the frequency range is from 40 Hz to 20 kHz, and the maximum sound pressure is 111 db.

Illumination is implemented due to strobe lights on the upper and lower edges of the front panel and circular lighting effects around the basses. Well, the weight of the column is appropriate – 14 kilograms, but the neighbors will not have a single chance to steal it from your terrace unnoticed.

Settings via smartphone

The proprietary application provides access to configure all parameters. From the start page, you can assign an automatic shutdown, update the firmware, unpair via Bluetooth and read the user manual. On the Start screen, you control playback and volume. The next screen gives access to sound parameters: in addition to the manual equalizer, there are five presets. Next is the selection of inputs, switching the speaker to the mode of pairing a stereo pair or broadcasting mode. Voice prompts are turned off or on, atmospheric sound effects are activated, and five lighting modes and its complete shutdown are also available.

Sound for large spaces

At low and medium volumes, the Tronsmart Halo 300 sounds clear: you can hear the weighty bass, the midst and trebles are easily read. The track “Men I Trust” by Billie Toppy sounds perky and cheerful in such a situation, the bass line and complex guitar are divided by parts, and the vocals are voluminous and with scale. We get a decent quality background soundtrack. But if you turn the volume knob further, the sound becomes more daring, gets such a penetrating power that it will not seem enough.

Even the song “For A Ride” by YOSIE and Lo with its unstable bass sounds impressive. There is a feeling of a concert venue, when the volume of the music does not allow you to hear the interlocutor, while the phonogram is worked out clearly and accurately. The light accompaniment moves to the rhythm of the music, and when the volume changes, its level is displayed by a red bar around the speaker, Tronsmart is also convenient. Well, the track “You Make Me Feel Good” by Satin Jackets sounded really impressive: the bass is large and dense, and stereo effects in the pauses give a wide panorama of sound in addition to accuracy and insight.

The sound can be adjusted to your preferences using the equalizer. But if you want to get everything from it at once, activate the proprietary SoundPulse preset and get a frequency-verified sound that will perfectly fit into the party format. Here you can feel the predominance of the bass, but everything is tuned so that not only the bass, but also other frequencies impress.
